Portrait of a smiling blonde woman

Becka Black (she/her) began her journey with CCD in the spring of 2023 as a grant writer. She is a proud Autistic, queer woman. Her background is in Biology, Psychology, and Cognitive Neuroscience with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Denver. After becoming burnt out from the neurotypical, capitalist world, she focused on empowerment, inclusion, and accessibility by teaching stretch, chair dancing, pole dancing, burlesque, and ballet for all bodies. She has won multiple burlesque crowns and is now focusing on combining the burlesque, variety, drag, and circus arts while fostering new performers from the bottom up by producing paid shows in various venues around Denver. Keeping with empowerment, inclusion, and accessibility, she helps non-profits and small businesses support those in need. Becka manages operations at CCD, writes grants, and works with data, timesheets, invoices, and other really exciting things that bore allistic people. Outside of CCD, she spends her time keying plants, learning (constantly, about everything), listening to records, snuggling her cat, and falling asleep reading.
