Our Vision: To cultivate a network of thriving
organizations, empowered by our services
to turn their deeply rooted community
connections into a bountiful harvest of
opportunities and resources.

Our Mission

We provide strategic fund development and grant management solutions for small/mid-sized nonprofits, small businesses, and local governments, enabling them to build authentic community connections and secure the resources they need to thrive.

In short: we support the good people out there doing good work by helping them secure the funding they need to be successful.

Our unique “teach a man to fish” approach to funding in rural and disinvested (disadvantaged) communities sets us apart. Our multigenerational team is our greatest asset. The collective skillset, which includes expertise in grant writing, data management, educational leadership, and creative technology, allows us to offer a more comprehensive and holistic suite of services than most solo consultants. Our ability to blend administrative excellence with creative community building and a deep understanding of adult learning is a unique value proposition.

Our fully virtual model keeps costs down, allowing us to offer high-quality services at accessible prices, ensuring community dollars stay within the community. We also pride ourselves on our fully transparent practices that allow us to be active partners in helping our clients seek funding to support our work together through capacity-building/technical assistance grants, targeted donations campaigns, or capital campaigns that incorporate funding for our services.

"Wainscott Consulting has been instrumental to us in the last few years. They are always professional and are willing to go the extra mile for us. In the last two years of working with Karen and her team, they have helped us secure nearly $5,000,000 in direct federal grants that we would otherwise not have been awarded. Her ability to take an idea and turn it into an exceptional proposal should not be understated."

— Brady Carroll, Grant Specialist, Albany County, Wyoming

Where We’re Coming From

The firm's journey began in 2020 as Wainscott Consulting, when Karen leveraged her expertise to secure a federal-level grant report for Albany County, Wyoming. The company’s initial success was built on a foundation of trust and demonstrated results, securing four additional clients by the end of 2022 without any formal advertising. During this entire period, Karen maintained full-time positions in both the nonprofit and government sectors.

From 2021 to 2024, Karen served as the Program Manager for the OEDIT Rural Opportunity Office within the Colorado Governor's Office. This experience provided a unique insight into the needs of rural communities and a deep understanding of government grant processes. After leaving OEDIT in 2024, Karen was able to leverage her own social capital to build a strong client roster, and the business pivoted to a "doing business as" model, rebranding as Community Centric Development (CCD) and forming a strategic partnership with fellow grant writer, Kandice Kramer. Their shared passion for supporting rural and underserved communities, combined with their success in securing federal-level grants, led to a period of rapid growth. The team expanded to include Becka Black, whose talent for data management enabled the firm to grow beyond grant writing and into software-based solutions.
